Key the report titled - Interaction Management Principles (unbound) and Guidelines for Implementing MTP (left bound report with enumerations). Include a title page for each. Print this document.
Assignment #3 - Reference Lists and Table of Contents (2 classes)
View the notes and examples on creating a reference list and table of contents that are on handouts in the classroom.
Key the reference list assignment and the two table of contents assignments. Ensure that you have used tabs with leaders to set up your table of contents. If you are unsure about setting tabs with leaders ask for assistance.

Assignment #4 – Multiple Page Report (3 classes)
Using the internet research at least two word processing software packages (Word, Word Perfect, Open Office – Writer, etc) Compare the packages including (but not limited to): capabilities, system requirements, platform options, and command structure.
Write a report comparing these word processing packages. Your completed report should include all three levels of headings, appropriate headers and footers, title page, table of contents and a reference list. Reports must be referenced appropriately. Plagiarism will result in a mark of zero. Print this document.
Assignment #5 – Creation of business (2 classes)
Completion of many of the following assignments requires that you create a fictional business. You may choose the type of business you would like to use (examples: tanning salon, restaurant, clothing store etc).
Once you have chosen the type of business you would like to use for this project locate four similar businesses on the Internet. In word create an attractive looking document to compare these four businesses names, slogans, and logos:

Choose a business name, slogan, and logo for your business. Use the program of your choice to design your business logo. It must be professional looking and original. Take your time selecting colors and font styles as these will play an important role in future assignments.

Assignment #6 – Letterhead (.5 classes)
Using the logo, slogan and business name you have created for your business design letterhead which will be used for your company. You may use Word or Publisher to design your letterhead. Remember – your letterhead should include a fictional business address and elements of your letterhead can be located at the top, bottom or sides of your page – creativity and professional appearance count BIG! Print 2 copies of your letterhead in color (e-mail to the office).
Assignment #7 – Form letter (1 class)
Write two letters. These letters will be mailed to current and prospective clients.
Letter 1 – The purpose of this letter is to inform current customers about “news” of your business. You may choose the purpose of the letter – recent renovations, specials, new ownership, etc. Include a spot in your letter for personalization. For example, “(customer name), we hope that you enjoyed your recent visit to our salon”. Use full block format, 2 point punctuation, an appropriate salutation and complimentary closing. Do not worry about including a return address or name in the salutation lines of this letter – these will be added in the next assignment. Do not print.
Letter 2 – The purpose of this letter is to inform prospective customers about services or specials that your business offers in an attempt to make them your customers. This letter must be different from letter 1. Use block format, no point punctuation, an appropriate salutation and complimentary closing. Again, addresses and names will be added in the next assignment. Do not print.
Assignment #8 – Mail Merge (1-2 classes)
Using Excel to create 2 different Excel spreadsheets, one to contain current customer information for your business, the other for prospective customer information. Your spreadsheets should include column headings for the following pieces of information: Title (Mr. Mrs. etc), First name, Last name, Street Address, City, Postal Code. Include information about 10 fictitious clients in each spreadsheet.
Open the letters you created in the previous assignment.
Following the instructions on using Mail Merge. Merge the appropriate mailing information and salutation information in each letter. Head phones required.
Print one copy of each letter on the letterhead you printed in the previous assignment. Print both copies of your spreadsheets.
