Students develop basic skills with tools used for computerized presentations involving text, data, graphics, sound and animation.
This module begins with a test of your knowledge of Hypermedia software. You will be tested on your current knowledge of PowerPoint software. The test will begin with a theory quiz. Then you will have a chance to demonstrate your skills. Students are expected to be able to answer all questions on this test by the end of the module and to have demonstrated their knowledge of test items by using them in their assignments.

All About Me (Review of Skills)
Create a Powerpoint presentation about yourself (6-8 slides). Include information about your birth date, your interests, your pet peeves, your favorite things. This is an opportunity to show the skills you already possess. Your presentation will be evaluation through a self and peer evaluation sheet. Your time to produce this presentation is limited so use your time wisely (spend approx 30 minutes on this). All About You Evaluation Sheet

The Do's and Don't of Hypermedia. Powerpoint and other hypermedia tools can be very effective methods of communicating ideas if used properly. Use the internet as a research tool to gather some points about how to use powerpoint to create an effective presentation. Display the data you find on an attractive poster. Here are a couple of examples:
Do - keep it simple
Don't - use as many loud sound effects as you can find.
*include the website addresses for the sources of information.
*include 8-12 points in each category and present attractively in a word document.

Post Secondary Presentation (Using Slide Master)
Using the research you completed for CTR1010 - Post Secondary Research Assignment (you must do this first) create a PowerPoint Presentation that represents the school you have researched. The focus of this assignment is the use of the Slide Master to develop a professional looking presentation. This presentation should inform prospective students about what this school has to offer. Create a professional presentation using the Do's and Don'ts we discussed in class (12-16 slides). The presentation should be timed so that it will play on its own. Where in the World is...? (Using Slide Notes and PowerPoint to aid in an oral presentation)
The document at this link will assist you in learning to use the speaker notes and importing sound into your presentation. Using the Internet you will research the country of your choice and information regarding acceptable business practices in this nation. This presentation will be created to aid an oral presentation on the same topic. The notes section of PowerPoint should be used to store the notes about the oral presentation you will give that goes along with this presentation.Where in the World is...? , Where in the World is...? Rubric Students who are working independantly on this module will NOT be required to give a presentation. However, they should prepare the speaker notes as if they were presenting to a class.

Design a quiz game which can be played by your classmates. Complete the tutorial at this link which will show you how to use hyperlinks in your presentation.
