Welcome to Information Processing! "Information Processing, a strand in Career and Technology Studies, represents the study of electronic technologies as they apply to personal use and business environments." (Alberta Learning, 2002)

Please refer to the course outline regarding modules available for students to complete as part of this course, as well as, classroom expectations. This website will be used to aid instruction for this course.

Homework is posted on the Eagle Butte Website.

If there is trouble with any links on this website to assignment files - all assignments and notes are available in the INFO folder on the network.

Daily Routine
1. Warm-up Keyboarding – 8 minutes – You are expected to have begun working when the bell rings.  You will record the number of lines that you key each day on your warm-up record sheet.  At the end of the week you will calculate your warm-up lines average, mark your work and submit your log sheet.

2. Skill Development – 7 – 10 minutes – We will complete a variety of exercises to help develop keyboarding rate and accuracy.

3. Instruction

4. Time to Work

5. Students who have completed the assigned work may use additional time to work on optional courses for extra credit.

Classroom Expectations
1. Respect people and equipment.

2.  All assignments are due at the beginning of class.  Late assignments may be docked 20%.

3.  An assignment will not be considered late if the student has a valid, excused reason.
Assignments or exams that are missed during an unexcused absence (if you skip) will automatically be given a mark of “0”.

4. If you are absent, it is your responsibility to obtain any notes or assignments missed and reschedule exams.

5. Students will follow the classroom procedure for signing in and out of class when late, or needing to use the washroom.

6. Students are required to bring texts, binders, paper, and writing supplies to every class.  If you show up without supplies, you will be asked to get them and then be marked late.  If you don’t have your supplies at school, you will also be marked late.

7. Plagiarism – this is copying!  That means using someone else’s materials without them knowing and presenting it as your own.  This will result in a “0” and parents and the office will be notified.

8. All assignments and course work must be saved in your network folder.  Assignments not saved in this folder will receive a mark of 0.

9. Students must have completed the Eagle Butte Computer Use Agreement and abide by it at all times.  Suspension of computer privileges will result in students being unable to complete any work on a computer during this suspension.

Late Policy
If you are Late:
a.  If you arrive late, enter quietly and sign into class.
b.  The teacher will approach you at a time that is convenient for them to address the late.
c.   If “lates/leaves” become excessive, students will have a brief meeting with the teacher after class.  Detentions may be assigned for subsequent lates/leaves.

** Late Contracts are also an option.  Cronic lateness will involve the administration.
