Home Page Profile
Once you have your Links, Navigation Strip or Buttons, Colour Scheme and Site Style selected for your main page and BEFORE you start to add content, you should create a Home Page Profile. This is simply a duplicate copy of your Home Page document (before content added) and renamed Profile which you will use as your master copy for creating all subsequent linked pages.
The procedure is very simple.
Duplicating on a Windows PC Computer
To duplicate the Home Page file while on a PC computer, hold down the <Control> key on your computer's keyboard and click and drag a copy of the existing Home Page document.
Duplicating on a Macintosh Computer
To duplicate the Home Page file while on a Macintosh computer, hold down the <Option> key on your computer's keyboard and click and drag a copy of the existing Home Page document.
A little '+" sign will appear as you drag.
When you release the mouse button, a second copy of the document with the word "Copy:" in the subject field will be created.
Double click to open this copy and change the Page link name to Profile.
You should also REMOVE the check boxes on the "Include today's date after header" and the "Scrolling Marquee" as well as the content in the scrolling marquee text field as these two items should only be displayed on your main Home Page.
Click on the Body/Footer tab and remove the check before "Include Counter at bottom of page" as there is no need to have a counter displayed on every page.
Clear out your Features Column
Click on the Subject/Meta Tags Tab and replace the copy: in the Subject field with a dash,
Close the profile and click on it once then choose File > Properties (PC) or File > Get Info (Mac) to bring up the properties form for the Profile document.
Click on the Stationery box to make the document a Stationery item.
Now, whenever you need to create a new HCK Page based on your Profile, just double-click on it and a new copy will be produced ready for you to input content.
